Martin M. Lwanga is an accomplished Author, Management Consultant, and Associate Professor of Business Management with extensive experience in leadership and academia. Currently Assoc Prof of Business Admnistration at Martyrs University Nkozi, he has served as the Director General of the Eastern and Southern African Management Institute (ESAMI), a regional institution owned by 10 African member states. He is an Adjunct Professor at Nelson Mandela University of Technology, Arusha, Tanzania. He has held key academic leadership roles, including Dean of the Uganda Christian University Business School, Head of the Management Department at Uganda Management Institute, and Lecturer at Makerere University.
Martin is a co-founder of one of Uganda’s first private radio FM station and several enterprises. He devotes his time to teaching business students across universities in Africa, Europe, North America and Asia. He has published over a dozen articles in peer reviewed journals and has published over a dozen books that include Everyone can Become an Effective Manager, Entrepreneurship through Generations, and Who is My Friend!
Martin speaks across the East African region and internationally on topics related to management, leadership development and personal effectiveness. He has published articles in refereed journals such as Uganda Journal of Management and Public Policy Studies and Journal of Public Administration. He is a columnist with Uganda’s leading Daily, New Vision, where he publishes the long running The Effective Manager column
Martin is a twice recipient of Uganda Human Resource Managers Association award for Teaching the Practice of Management. Martin went to Kings College, Budo and is a graduate of Makerere University, Oklahoma University, Maastricht School of Management/ ESAAMI, the Institute of Urban studies, Netherlands and University of South Africa. A Rotarian, he is married to Milly with children and is based in Kampala, Uganda.
